This challenge focuses on the following parts of our rule:

I will memorize the Sermon on the Mount and meditate on it regularly.

In every situation, I will seek to do acts of service, take the lowest place, place others’ needs above my own.

The challenge has two parts:

  1. Memorize Chapter 5 of the Sermon on the Mount.  For those who have already memorized it, recommit this chapter to memory.
  2. At mealtimes, place a special emphasis on serving others and placing their needs above your own.  Examples: keep an eye out for people eating alone and invite them to join you; offer drink refills to the people you are eating with; clear their place; pick up napkins or silverware from the floor.
